5G is the 5th generation of mobile technology – the next step that will eventually replace 4G throughout
the world. The move to 5G is to give consumers and businesses a faster, more responsive and overall more
powerful experience. What does that mean in real terms? Uploading pictures, or videos faster, even in
crowded areas when 4G can’t handle the load. It also means downloading is quicker. For home internet, it
means replacing fiber-optic cable with a faster wireless connection that comes right through your wall
or window.
There are many benefits to using 5G Ultra Wideband
1) Up to 10x faster than what you have now. So all your downloads take a fraction of the time – get a
movie in minutes, or a song in seconds.*
2) Faster and safer than public Wi-Fi. So you can say goodbye to slow speeds when you need to get
online, on the go. Be your own hotspot and stop worrying about hackers or snoopers.**
3) Video and audio in HD. So you can stream video and video chat without Wi-Fi, with fewer frozen faces
from your family or coworkers.***
4) Built for places where people can use their phones at the same time. So you can stream, share, post
and work without being slowed down by everyone around you when connected.
5) Console quality gaming on your phone. So you can game on the go with low lag.*****
When you’re not in a 5G Ultra Wideband coverage area, you may still get a great network experience with
5G Nationwide, in addition to our award-winning 4G LTE network.
Verizon offers two types of 5G service: 5G Ultra Wideband and 5G Nationwide. 5G Ultra Wideband is
Verizon’s highest performing 5G. Our 5G Ultra Wideband network uses high band (mmWave) and mid-band
(C-band) spectrum to deliver a top-of-the-line 5G experience. 5G Ultra Wideband provides game-changing
benefits, like speeds up to 10x faster than what you have now.
5G Nationwide is the everyday 5G available across the country. It uses a low-band spectrum to provide
great coverage with performance comparable to our award-winning 4G LTE, and is only getting better over
time.
By deploying both technologies together alongside 4G, customers get an excellent, reliable network
experience around the country.
Verizon is constantly expanding their 5G coverage. 5G Ultra Wideband has also been especially deployed
in crowded locations so people can stream and share when connected, like in arenas, airports, and
downtown cities and towns. We also provide 5G Nationwide service in over 2,700 markets. To see our
current 5G coverage map, showcasing the cities and towns with 5G Nationwide and 5G Ultra Wideband, visit

To get Verizon 5G, you need a 5G enabled phone. Verizon has a wide selection of 5G smartphones and
devices including the newest Apple iPhone, Google Pixel, and Samsung Galaxy

Then, you need to select a 5G phone plan that works for you. To get our 5G Ultra Wideband network and
our 5G Nationwide network, choose from our best Unlimited plans (5G Play, 5G Do, 5G Get More). All other
plans only include 5G Nationwide. Not all 5G devices are compatible with 5G Ultra Wideband and a
software update (when available) may be required.
C-Band is mid-band wireless spectrum that is now part of Verizon’s 5G Ultra Wideband network. C-band is
a widely used mid-band spectrum that allows for increased mobility and increased bandwidth across
compatible devices, where available. This will allow for expanded mobility and broadband services to
millions more consumers and businesses. C-band spectrum provides a valuable middle ground between
capacity and coverage for 5G networks, and will enable high speeds and expanded coverage for both
mobility, home broadband and business internet solutions.
5G is the next “generation” of wireless technology. It runs on a different frequency spectrum than 4G,
which means users can experience new benefits. Just as 3G & 4G enabled new experiences like texting,
video chatting, location-aware apps, high-res photo sharing, and music and video streaming, we’re just
at the beginning of seeing
what 5G will do.
Our 4G LTE network covers more than 2.68 million square miles, 327 million people and over 99% of the U.S. population — and continues to expand. Verizon has been named the most awarded wireless company for network quality by J.D. Power 27 consecutive times. And Verizon has been the most awarded carrier in the history of the RootScore report.*
We're proud of the reputation and the awards that we've earned. But we're even prouder that they demonstrate the proof that we've built a network that really works for you.*
*Verizon Wireless received the lowest rate of reported problems in the J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Wireless Network Quality Study of customers' perceptions of network performance with wireless carries. Visit jdpower.com/awards. "Most awarded" based on RootMetrics® RootScore® Reports: 2H 2013 - 2H 2021 . Tested with best commercially available smartphones on 3 national mobile networks across all available network types excl. C-Band. Not a specific finding as to 5G networks. Experiences may vary. RootMetrics awards are not an endorsement of Verizon.

Edge is a mobile edge computing platform available for businesses. It was designed to enable
developers to build applications for mobile end-users and wireless edge devices with ultralow latency.
By bringing AWS cloud services at the edge of Verizon’s 5G network, Verizon is bringing the cloud closer
to mobile end users and connected devices, which will unlock a wide range of transformative
applications. For example, 5G Edge might enable AI IOT applications and other new technologies to fight
fraud, power humanized assistants, speed up loan transactions, shorten settlement cycles, and accelerate
market forecasting, buying and selling.
